Chapter 2 : The Law Of God Regarding Retribution

God has made a system of punishments for the sins man commits against other men. Every man is punished for his crimes even if they were against animals.

“17 And he that killeth any man shall surely be put to death.

18 And he that killeth a beast shall make it good; beast for beast. 19 And if a man causes a blemish in his neighbor; as he hath done, so shall it be done to him; 20 Breach for breach, eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth: as he hath caused a blemish in a man, so shall it be done to him again. 21 And he that killeth a beast, he shall restore it: and he that killeth a man, he shall be put to death. 22. Ye shall have one manner of law, as well for the stranger, as for one of your own country: for I am the LORD your God”. (Leviticus 24: 17-22)

“29 o these things shall be for a statute of judgment unto you throughout your generations in all your dwellings. 30 Whoso killeth any person, the murderer shall be put to death by the mouth of witnesses: but one witness shall not testify against any person to cause him to die. 31. Moreover, e shall take no satisfaction for the life of a murderer, which is guilty of death: but he shall be surely put to death. 32 And ye shall take no satisfaction for him that is fled to the city of his refuge, that he should come again to dwell in the land, until the death of the priest. 33. So ye shall not pollute the land wherein ye are: for blood it defileth the land: and the land cannot be cleansed of the blood that is shed therein, but by the blood of him that shed it. “ (Numbers 35: 29-33)

“And thine eye shall not pity; but life shall go for life, eye for an eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.”  (Deuteronomy  19: 21)

Let us read the following verses carefully:

“ The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers: every man shall be put to death for his own sin”. (Deuteronomy  24 : 16)

“ But the children of the murderers he slew not: according unto that which is written in the book of the law of Moses, wherein the LORD commanded, saying, The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, nor the children be put to death for the fathers; but every man shall be put to death for his own sin.” (12-2-Kings . 14 : 6)

Thus we see that God is fair. He does not punish a man for another man’s sin. He would not punish a man or a generation for the sins that were committed by other generations. Therefore, the claim that Jesus came to save us from the sins of our fathers and that of Adam is refuted. Every generation is responsible for and will be punished for his sins.

Conclusion:

– Jesus did not come to save us from the sins of our fathers, because the law of God in the Torah provides that father shall not be punished for his son and vice versa.
